Getting started
Install & first run
From installer to your first spoken command in about five minutes.
Requirements
- Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit.
- A microphone: built-in, headset or USB. A headset works best in noisy rooms.
- An internet connection. Speech recognition and AI run through Dexibi Cloud.
- About 500 MB of free disk space.
There are no API keys or AI accounts to set up. AI is included with every plan.
Install
- Run the Dexibi installer and follow the prompts. If Windows SmartScreen shows a warning on an early build, choose More info → Run anyway.
- Dexibi opens a short setup guide the first time it starts.
The setup guide
- Welcome: what Dexibi does.
- How your data is handled: microphone, screen, history and Dexibi Cloud, explained in plain language.
- Microphone: pick your input and check the level meter moves when you speak.
- Dexibi AI: confirms AI is included, with an optional connection check.
- Permissions: allow Mouse & keyboard control, Screen understanding and Cloud AI processing. Each can be changed later in Permissions.
- Finish: shortcuts, and whether Dexibi starts when you sign in.
Set up your voice
Open Settings → Voice & microphone → Only my voice → Set up my voice and read the six short phrases in the styles shown. From then on Dexibi responds only to you. See Only my voice.
Turn on hands-free
In Settings → Wake word, turn on Enable wake phrase and Hands-free, then set Listening mode to Hands-free in Voice & microphone. Now say “Hey Dexibi, open Chrome”. See Wake word & hands-free.
Where Dexibi lives
Dexibi runs as a small gold mark on the edge of your screen (the floating assistant) and an icon in the system tray. Closing the settings window keeps it running; quit from the tray menu.
