Using Dexibi

Media & episodes

Dexibi reads which show and episode is playing, so “next episode” works even when the player has no next button.

Episodes

Say “play the next episode”, “previous episode”, “play season 4 episode 1” (or “season four, episode one”, “s4e1”). Dexibi:

  1. Reads the current episode from the page or window title and the player (“S3:E2”, “Season 3 Episode 2”, “3x02”).
  2. Uses the player’s own controls: the next-episode button if there is one; otherwise the episode in the Episodes list; for another season, it picks the season first.
  3. After the last episode of a season, “next” plays episode 1 of the next season.
  4. Checks the screen and tells you “Playing Season 3 Episode 3” once it can see it.

If the player hides its controls, Dexibi moves the mouse over the video to reveal them and navigates from there.

Playback

  • “Pause”, “play”, “skip intro”, “skip recap”
  • “Next track”, “previous song”
  • “Volume up”, “volume down”, “mute”

Notes

  • Works in browsers (Netflix, Prime Video, JioHotstar, YouTube) and desktop players such as VLC.
  • DRM-protected video may appear black in screenshots; Dexibi then relies on the page’s accessibility information, which normally includes the controls.
